Job vacancy reporting

On 1 January 2019, the Act No. 376/2018 Coll., which amended the Act No. 5/2004 Coll. on Employment Services, entered into effect. This act introduced a new obligation for employers, related to the job vacancy reporting. From 1 January 2019 each employer is obliged to report job vacancy and its characteristics to the Office of labour, social affairs and family, in the territorial district of which the place of work is located.

The employer can report job vacancy as follows:
- online by the Internet Labour Market Guide (ISTP) at the website www.istp.sk. Following the registration in the ISTP system it is possible to create and edit job vacancy free of charge,
- by completing the form “job vacancy report“, which the employer can deliver to the respective Office of labour, social affairs and family by post, fax or e-mail,
- by notification made in person at the Office of labour, social affairs and family to the respective employee of the Office of labour, social affairs and family (job vacancy agent),
- by phone call to the respective employee of the Office of labour, social affairs and family (job vacancy agent),
- online at websites www.profesia.sk and www.kariera.sk (this service is charged).

The fine up to 300 euros may be imposed on the employer in case of failure to report the job vacancy.

The obligation to report job vacancies by one of the above mentioned ways does not apply to job vacancies provided by the employer to the public administration information system operated on the central public administration portal according to the special regulation (e.g. if the employer reports job vacancies under Act No. 55/2017 Coll. on the Civil Service as amended).
